Long Covid Workshops

We are really excited to announce the launch of our Long Covid Workshops!

After one of her cousins started experiencing symptoms of Long Covid, Jen realised how similar it is to what she has experienced with her brain injury.

We developed the workshops that Jen wish existed when she was on a 7-month sickness absence. They encompass everything she wished she had known and everything she wishes her employers had known while she was navigating a poorly understood hidden disability, living with severe headaches, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, and scared about returning to work.

Jen is perfectly placed to deliver workshops on Long Covid as she has worked directly with HR teams and managers to help implement reasonable adjustments and create a culture of disability awareness so people returning from a sickness absence feel safe and supported. She has also personally experienced a drastic life change due to health issues and has learned how to adapt.

Navigating Work with Long Covid

Going back to work after experiencing a health condition or illness can be challenging. These challenges are made even greater by the fact that Long Covid is a new and poorly understood hidden disability affecting millions of people in different ways. Unwavering symptoms like breathlessness, fatigue, brain fog, headaches, aching joints, anxiety, and depression can make the prospect of returning to work scary and overwhelming.

In this interactive session you will learn about what support is available to you at work and externally. We will discuss techniques to help you identify healthy limits and boundaries, clarify what you can do and what you need help to do, and explore a variety of reasonable adjustments. We will also help you identify strategies to help you manage your mental health in a time of uncertainty and empower you to ask for the support you need.

This session is for anyone experiencing symptoms of Long Covid and considering a return to work, or currently at work but in need of some support.

It is equally relevant for anyone who is experiencing an ongoing health condition or has acquired an impairment or disability.

Supporting employees with hidden disabilities or health condition can be difficult to navigate at first and opening the conversation about wellbeing and reasonable adjustments can feel daunting and overwhelming. Given there are millions of people of working age experiencing Long Covid, workplaces are going to be affected in myriad ways and managers, senior leaders, and HR teams need to know how to adapt and offer targeted support.

In this interactive session you will learn how to support your employees experiencing Long Covid. Jen will help you to understand the unique challenges of hidden disabilities and poorly understood health conditions, and how to create a more inclusive environment.

You will learn about the external support available to your employees, the value of a hidden disability lanyard, as well as how to engage in appropriate conversations and implement reasonable adjustments that work for you, your employee, and your team. In doing so, you will also become more disability confident overall.
